  • hmmm.... i might make a trip to go see this....

  • Question,

Will people actually pay $15 at the door for two high school bands??

*I'm planing an event myself, I'm giving tickets to the high schools to sell and I don't want to set the price at no dayum $5*

  • Yes people will pay 15 at the Door if they have no way of getting the Tickets in advance.  It might be 2 HS bands but its a event that can last 2-4 Hours. Plus at this event, there is Professional Photography and Video Prodution by "Doubletime Entertainment"

  • Ay, do yo u plan these events? you on FB or email? I need to ask you some questions!

  • Naw i dont but I know you can talk to Mr Whitehead of Warren County HS, NC. He puts on the best Drumline Competition which include band battles also with College Drumline Sections competing. he should help you out.

  • As one of the directors of JOJ, the event was pretty cool.... Any unbiased band head will tell you that without pause that this event was pretty much a wrap after the first round. Eastern did have a good balanced sound but their arrangements didnt compliment them.... "Bugatti" was their high point of the event.... Eastern Auxiliaries were good as well but the seven wardrobe changes were a tad bit much.... wayyyyyyyyyyyy too many J-sette groups performed at the event and at one point of the show, they made the two bands stop playing so that two of the J-sette squads could go head-to-head....maybe its a Northern thing....idk...but I digress.... Overall, I think the crowd got their monies worth from a local favorite and an outta town band with a strong sound.

  • about the "Jsette" squads. those are actually Auxiliary Groups that Compete in Competitions. THey Compete in comps along with High school squads in the 18 and Over Category. Most of the Members are Alumni of Various High school programs. They also have Competed against Colleges like Golden Delight, Ooh La La, Essence of Troy, ect... Dance, along with Competition between schools is a serious part of the DC area band world.. and about Easterns Aux. Uniform changes, It shouldnt be considered a problem. its not like you have to wait for them to get dressed. Colleges do it all the time. Golden Delight changed outfits 4 times at one event.. Thats what makes EHS Aux special. after all they ARE the 1st Ladies of DC (1st school to include a "Dancline" in DC. welll before Howard)

  • Is it true that Eastern was using college players?  I know from the pics I could definitely tell SOME players couldnt have been in high school.

  • We were told that they have two alumni players....One of the sousaphone players definitely fit that bill....lol
