Age Limit

I'm a 31 year old male who graduated from high school in '97. When I graduated I got married a year later and thought that I could have attended TSU and be married at the same time. But, not knowing about the real deal about life at the time,I let everything go. Now that I got everything square away, I started the enrollment process in Febuary this year for the fall of '09 at TSU-and yes I'm going for the band as well. Do ya'll think it's too late even though I still know how to play.

  • Do It man. if you're in good shape that would be the best thing too

You might want to talk to prof. Lee. shoot him an email at lee_rf@tsu.edu. let him know your situation and he's gonna ask you to audition.
  • If you're willing to work your chops up and get in shape, then by ALL means, go for it!!! As long as you're making progress towards your degree, you should be fine. You can be an inspiration to others.

Worthing '97...some of my CB's came from Worthing that year. One is band director at Kashmere now.
  • Go for it!
  • It souds like a mission, but it can be done. Just prepared to be tired. As long as you still got your chops goin, you should be fine. Just make sure you're family is ready to adjust too. Being in a band like TSU sounds like you'll be putting in real hours.
  • You're 31 and wouldn't even be close to being the oldest to march for the Ocean.

    Knock ya'self out.
  • Go for it.
  • Go for it! But I caution you that your journey won't be an easy one! Since you were in school there has been at least 3 peer generations that has evolved and that the current generation's mentality is so different that you will have to endure a lot to tolerate your fellow peers. Not saying that you can't or that your peers will be problems but at you will have to develop patience and become the example of right! Congratulations on your efforts and see you across the field in the future!
