  • They used to have it at the SWAC Championship Game when it first started, but everyone didn't participate.

    • really? did not know that.sounds very interesting.
      • They had a BOTB's for the for Swac Championship Game in 1999. The only bands that participated were Alcorn, Pine Bluff, Valley, A&M, Bama State. Alcorn won 1st place.
        • Yea that BOTB was classic! The only bands that didn't participate was Grambling, PV, and TxSu. Everyone else was in the house. JSU and SU was halftime because they both were in the Championship game. AAMU Clowned! wow didn't know they had placed alcorn 1st.
  • They only way that all bands would participate is if the bands are paid. Takes money to move a band.
    • Yeah i definitely agree it would take money to make that happen.
  • This would be beyond epic if this was to happen.. Hopefully one day it will
  • If yall knew like I know .. From a Reliable Source..

. There have been meetings taking place with the SWAC representitives and Directors of bands discussing SWAC Hosted Battles,  The Idea Floating in the air now is is to maybe schedule a By-Week in the middle of the season where these bands will show up in a central Location (Possibly the Superdome)  or toward the end ( I.E before the SWAC Championship game) for a battle to take place,

This Could possibally happen THIS FALL!

For the SWAC to have this in mind. They're probably trying to Capitalize on a money making opportunity for both the Bands and SWAC football. .. Giving the People what they want.     if done for the SWAC Championship It could draw in Thousands of Bandheads in  for that weekend of events..

    • Bands aren't going to go if they don't pay. That was the problem with the first BOTB's. I know Grambling won't be there if they aren't getting paid, Dr. Pannell not easily persuaded like other band directors lol. It takes a lot of money for buses, food and lodging. They can plan all they want to but if they don't pay for the bands, the plans are only dreams, especially during these economic times. They can't force a band to go if they aren't footing the bill. Would be nice but the money has to be there.
      • They can waste it if they want to make it maybe
