Dear Prospective Student:
Arkansas Baptist College located in Little Rock, Arkansas is an open admission historically black four-year liberal arts college that also offers associate degrees and certified educational programs. Arkansas Baptist College seeks to empower students through education with a spiritual development emphasis while developing their character for positive daily life choices. As the Director of Bands at Arkansas Baptist College I am proud to have this opportunity to invite you to become a member of the Arkansas Baptist College marching band. At this time, the program is going into a new direction. We are reaching for new heights, new goals, and new methods of teaching, as well as innovative ideas. • Physically and mentally prepared for the rigors of Marching Band
• A willingness to learn new techniques and become a better musician
Auditions
Auditions for membership in the ABC Marching Band will be conducted by the Band Director prior to acceptance into the band program. Audition will be based on the following criteria:
• Sight reading ability
• Tone Production
• Technique and execution
• Scales
• Overall knowledge of general musical notation, or required material
