  • I'm not familiar with trumpet pieces in that regard. I KNOW you can go online and look up trumpet solos that isn't too pricey to purchase. Look at the level required to play and practice practice practice. Work on your range.
  • my range is cool i'm hitting grand G
  • Great. You should be able to get all the way to pedal tones by now as well. After finding a piece you shouldn't have too much to worry about. Be sure to get in touch with your future section leaders at Tenn. State. and tell them you're coming as well. Make sure you tell them your name, what school you're coming from, and what primary instrument you plan to play on. Express enthusiasm at being a difference maker in the trumpet section and you'll be skr8!
  • grand g like the g 4 lines above the staff or the g 7 spaces above the staff (cuz the 7 space g is what i was taught was "grand" g)
  • but more on the subject, why dont you just ask your director about audition pieces?
  • If you play brass, Arbans is always a good bet.
  • yeah thats where i'm going to pick a piece

  • Concert Etude by Godecke is a good one, or the Haydn trumpet concerto.
