On Thursday 5/1/14 Block Band hosted its first networking event.
In an effort to uplift the incredible art form and tradition of Showstyle band, Block Band brought together many individuals who represent companies and organizations that are important to our craft.

Included among these prominent individuals were:
* Dr. O’Neill Sanford – founder of the HBCU Band Directors Consortium – A network of college band directors dedicated to preserving the art form.
* Leonardo Williams - Vice-President of the NC Showstyle Band Directors Association – A network of Band Directors dedicated to providing support for NC Showstyle Band Directors and to Organizing NC Band Events
Also Co-owner of Summer Prep Music Camp. A summer band camp set-up to provide opportunities to prepare young people for high school band.
* Justin King – Co-owner Summer Prep Music Camp
* Rodney Chambers – Executive Director of High Stepping Nationals - A national series of competitions for Showstyle Bands
* Jeremiah Johnson – CEO & Founder of Music Greeks – An organization that provides paraphernalia for music based Greek organizations.
* Dr. Kevin Davenport – Author of the Book "Practical Techniques for Building The High School Marching Band" – an instructional guide for Showstyle Band Directors
* Gerard Howard – Founder/CEO of Marchingsport.com – A network of social media and video websites for Showstyle marching bands. Includes Bandhead.org
* Rashad Watters – CEO/Founder – Block Band Music & Publishing, LLC – A company that provides Music, Equipment & Accessories for Showstyle and Corpstyle Bands
