BLOCK BAND's “BEST BAND IN THE LAND” VIDEO COMPETITION!
Block Band is proud to introduce our “Best Band in the Land” video competition!
Submit a video of your band playing a Block Band arrangement for a chance to win $200 in FREE Block Band merchandise!
You even have a shot at winning “Fan Favorite” and walking away with $100 in band products.
Here are some details:
- The contest opens October 15th and closes October 27th
- Criteria for video submissions –
- Open to high school and high school age community bands only.
- Recording has to be of a Block Band arrangement
- Recording must be of the entire arrangement
- Special effects are not required
- Percussion sections will be judged on how well they play the part that is written
Each entry will be judged by our panel of three (3) judges. Judging will be on SOUND ONLY. Videos do not have to have special effects, however note that your video may be used for marketing purposes for Block Band, so high quality videos are appreciated.
- Round 1:
- The judges will view all of the entries
- 10 entries will be selected by October 30th to advance to Round 2
- Round 2:
- The judges will review and score those 10 entries
- The 5 highest scored entries will be uploaded to YouTube for the Fan Favorite contest. The video with the most “likes” between Oct 30-Nov 4 will win Block Band’s “Fan Favorite”.
- The Top 5 entries will advance to the Final Round
- Final Round:
- Block Band arrangers will vote on the Top 5 entries
Block Band’s Best in the Land and Block Band’s Fan Favorite will be announced November 5th.
Email your entries to contest@blockbandmusic.com. Please include the following information with your entry:
- School name and address
- Principal’s name
- Name of arrangement performed
So email your entry between October 15-27th for your chance to be crowned Block Band’s 2012 Best in the Land!

Please note that submission of your video to Block Band’s contests grants Block Band Music & Publishing, LLC. permission to use your video or image in marketing, promotions, or on Block Band’s website. Please obtain permission from your school administrators to participate in this contest prior to video submission. Block Band will not be held liable for the posting of videos that have been submitted without said approval.

Reminder for High School Bands
Block Band's Best In The Land competition will only last until Oct 27th.
Don't wait. Submit your videos as soon as possbile for a chance to win.
Just for clarification. Your video can be recorded anywhere.
* On the field Friday Night,
* At a Competition
* On the practice field
* In the Stands
* In the bandroom.

Ok, band fans, just a reminder that this weekend is the closing date for Block Band’s video contest.
Don’t miss out on the chance to win free products for your high school band!
Videos must be submitted in by 11:59 pm est 10/27/2012 to either contest@blockbandmusic.com or blockbandmusic@gmail.com.
So, use this weekend’s games or competitions to record your band at its best.
But remember, your band does not have to be on the field for you to win!
You can also record your band right there in the stands or the bandroom.
Addressing a Concern:
Due to time constraints associated with playing at a football game many directors have cut the length of their songs from Block Band therefore making them ineligible for the contest.
No bid deal,
If you received the music from Block Band then you have the full arrangement. Simply record your band playing the full arrangement while still in the bandroom.
The number one thing to remember.
Don’t let someone else take your $100/$200!

We have only had a handful of submissions so far, so at this point, some lucky band director will walk away with easy cash in hand.
Are you going to let them take your money?
If you are proud of your band program don't delay and get your videos in before its too late!
