Quick question.  How do you compare a clip of a band from the end of the year one year with the start of the year 2 years later?  Those Scotlandville clips were from the spring of the 2010-2011 school year and fall 2012-2013 school year.  The work hard play hard was with just a portion of the band due to the hurricane that hit.  Like someone said earlier, you picked the worst clips possible to compare.  I've seen much better from every band listed.

I'm from New Orleans born and raised. I'm currently a band director in Baton Rouge. Both cities have qualities that the other don't. I respect the musical culture in the city, it's a big part of who I am. Let me just put this out there New Orleans has middle school programs that's better than some of our high school programs, we have maybe one or two and all the schools have to fight to get them. ( I have no feeder at all ) my point is we have to develope kids from stratch down here which makes the playing field much different. Kids go to high school in New Orleans already playing not all but more go playing than don't. I know cause I went to my high school already playing very well. We get kids that sign up for band who can't even spell the name of the instrument they wanna play.

In closing the only way to settle this debate is to get the bands from both cities put them in a neutral place and let them get it on. Just my thoughts.

ok obviously you dont kno alot about br bands ...... our biggest bands arent always our best (besides baker) if you really look youll see that 504 strongholds are st aug and op walker maybe mcmain while br can fall back on baker slv ihs mck & east feliciana sooooo add it up

if you want proof look at how baker shut st aug down and even mckinley and istrouma took on walker which alot of school fear doing br bands are still on top we just havent been posting vids for certain reasons
