  • THANK YOU for saying this,  where are the REAL musician at cuz anybody can play a rap or pop tune
  • I actually been wanting to say this. I saw the clip of J.S.U. trumpets playing buglers holiday. They did a good job. Made me think we need more clips of concert bands, small ensembles, wind ensembles etc. Kids need to see more of clips of other music instead of marching band 24/7.Its already sad that a lot of band directors don't expose them to it. At least we can expose them to it on here.
  • IT would be interesting to see that. I may be making trips to State Ensembles since i missed my chance to play in district n all that. ima bring my camera with me n post because my god these young people are amazing!

But i know these HBCU music programs have excellent jazz bands, concert bands, n everything. So why hide it behind the marching band status??

  • We're playing these in Wind Ensemble
  • That barnum and bailey was good. Them piccolo's.....SMH....nice.....Post that and all footage in the video section so everybody can see.

  • It'll get like 12 views.... but if i post a video of Southern playing there goes my baby for the 12th time it'll get 300. the minds of people today....  I mean yeah i like marching and what not... but why call yourself a musician if you only can do one aspect? Can a police officer be a police officer with only training in how to drive the car?

  • Dont complain if yo ass aint recording either...  JUST SAYIN
  • Go watch the memphis east high school symphonic band clip on youtube, that small high school band sounds amazing....that clip was my junior year, I play the Euphonium for memphis east, ima senior now
  • I wish there were clips of S.U.'s symphonic band when Mr. Knighten was over it and I was apart of it. We played Barnum and Bailey's Favorite too, but my favorite piece was Poets and Peasants. After that was William Tell Overture were I had the solo.

Then we had a piece called Tarantula we played that I liked alot... yea, it's spelled like the spider but it's not pronounced that way.

I was in symphonic band at S.U. when Nelson Mandela was the speaker for graduation and Knighten wrote the South African National Athem... good times yo!
