How is it when your switching instraments...?
Im trying to switch to a brass next year but im scared to do it
  • I play Clarinet and i want to switch to trumpet but im so scared
  • Well one good thing is that you are already comfortable with Treble clef. Don't be scared. Start buzzing on a mouthpiece soon and practice. It should not be to hard.

  • ok thanks ill keep that in mind
  • OKAY I'M SPEAKING FROM EXPERIENCE I STARTED ON ALTO SAX MY CRAB YEAR THAT SAME YEAR I STARTED PLAYIN TRUMPET IT WAS SO EASY SWITCHING. MY SECOND YEAR I WAS GOING TO F-HORN SO I STARTED PLAYING F-HORN A LITTLE, BUT INSTEAD OF F-HORN I WENT TO BARITONE I PLAYED BARTIONE ALL FOR MY SECOND YEAR TO MY SENIOR YEAR AND STILL PLAY IT TODAY, ALSO MY SOPHERMORE YEAR I PLAYED TUBA IN CONCERT AND IN MY JURIOR YEAR ALSO PART TIME THO. MY SENIOR YEAR I PLAYED TENOR PART TIME AND BARITONE FULL TIME......LOL AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT I BECAME ONE OF THE BEST IN EVERY INSTRUMENT. SO IT'S NOT HARD SWITCHING INSTRUMENTS AS LONG AS YOU WANT TO BECOME ONE OF THE BEST YOU'LL BE THE ONE OF THE BEST
  • if you scared why are you doin it?

    yall need tpets that bad?
  • You shouldn't be scared, just go for it. It's really not as hard as it seems as long as you are committed to learning the new instrument you should be fine. And also keep in my mind NO ONE...[ not even the cocky ego heads who sometimes prowl these forums] started out very good and that it takes practice. The key is to NOT get discouraged and work hard.
  • whats the worst you can do?

    play a wrong note?

thats what practice is for....you'll do fine.
