Petition for Dr. Shelby R. Chipman to be appointed as FAMU's Director of Bands

FAMU Band Student have created this petition to support our Shelby R. Chipman to be the next Director of Bands. He has gave this school over a decade of his service and it's only natural that he be the one to hold the baton next. The recent reopening of the Director of Bands has made this process much harder than it needs to be, so please, sign the petition to support FAMU and the Marching "100".

if this is the band director at NCCU, is this the same band director who had that band do those 26 rounds with us(juke) in 06??

Could this mean the position could go to someone else? What other reason would there be a petition this late in the process. But I mentioned months ago that there's a strong possibility Chipman wouldn't be selected and was shouted down.

I heard Reid had the job but FAMU didn't want to pay the man. So the search is on again
.. But I said months ago Reid would get it.

I can confirm that pay was definitely NOT the reason Reid didn't take the position, but I'm not at liberty to tell y'all until some other stuff happens.

Not at liberty? I knew who would get the baton before you mofos did. I know who I need to know... It was the pay and authority, same thing. More pay, more authority. Less authority/control, less pay.

I'm telling you... that is not why. Yes you were right about who would get the baton, but the matters on why he didn't take the job is a more complex matter. Just know it had nothing to do with money.
