Top 5 regional All-Star bands......

1. MAAB   (most mature full sound give these guys a couple more performances and they'll be deadly)

2 HUMB (those guys are always going to going to give anyone a run for their money!!  watch out for these guys!!!)

3 NOAASB (though i talk the most shit about these guys its only cause i am from this city and i will ALWAYS expect more, when these guys get thier instrumentation issues in line, they can easily be the best)

4. AASB (would've put these guys higher, but they didnt seem like they played to their strengths, and i mean they didnt sound like any ATL band.... They went to jackson and tried to "crank up". Mellos not sounding to hot and trumpet trying to much... hopefully these guys will evolve soon.)

5 Memphis/LLI  (i put these two up because after the Jackson BOTB, i lost MAJOR respect for these 2 bands... their performances were just awful and i know they are much better than that... GET BACK TO THE BASICS!!! you'll be fine!)

  • 1. MAAB- for the time they been in existence they are really making moves, I look forward to next years band.

    2. NOAASB- I really like this band because they are cleaning up their sound, and will produce regardless of numbers

3.HUMB- This bands book is deadly, but I personally feel like the sound is not as mature as the top two.

4.AASB- Has one of the best sounds period, however they play some lame arse music and they are easily influenced into cranking up. they need to DO them.

5.Memphis could easily demolish any one of these bands on any day, but thats their problem they know that and the arrogance is starting to shine through, and will eventually be their downfall!

Honorable Mention- I remember when LLI could take out some colleges, I look forward to their return!

    • Yeah.... LLI was a powerhouse in its hay day....
  • Damien I don't blame you for putting us where you did. They say you perform how you practice but with us its kinda the other way around. We have some fire ass practices but for performances, idk what happens. Dedication is also the key. To be honest when Louisiana sounds of dynamite allstar band that's like right across town got established,LLI got hit. Hit Hard!. Our biggest band we've had since we got back is when we went to biloxi,ms botb in Jan. And after that pretty good comeback performance, everything went downhill from then and that's just the truth. We went with what we had to had Jackson. About 50 max.4 Trombones and 10 tubas. We wasn't really that balanced and we wansnt just gonna cancel the trip because we've had previous events cancelled and the hits peoples nerves and gas $. When we get our people back and a tad bit more organized then we will be straight again.
  • Dont be fooled and think that Atlanta band cant come and crank  up, we focus on sounding good first then the power. Thats like saying All the other all-stars band are just loud.......

    • not saying it can't... but they tried to and failed IMO... i think they got TOO excited cause somethings just wasnt clicking for them

      • I love their approach to playing. Go back and look at their vid from Austin. They don't play out of control, but still have a full sound.
        • Austin has some REALLY good players up there. I've been impressed with them since 08
