  • Congratulations to your students! I love hearing about HISD students proving we can do things as well!

I took 25 students to Johnstons Solo and Ensemble. 5 - 1's and 16- 2's....biggest group Hamilton has taken to Solo and Ensemble in over 8-10 years.

  • Congrats Worthing students.  Those solos make you stronger musicians and it shows in your marching band.
  • I remember solo and ensemble days. It's was seeing my success here that convinced me that I may have a future in music making. Use to keep my blue ribbons from festivals pinned in my case just to piss people off when I opened in at All City practice. Gud times...

    Congrats to ur students!!

  • I play alto sax over here at hightower. My ensemble played a sax quartet called Just for Show. We advanced to state. As for the rest of the band, i'm not sure exactly how many went but I know we had about 20 people advance to state, and both the jazz band ensemble and the percussion ensembles got ones.
  • I don't know how I missed this thread...

We had 8 solos and one ensemble to make a 2, 10 that made 3's, 2 that made 4's(twins, ironically), and 5 kids (beginners) that made 5's.  Gotta put some kids back in the book and make some things happen...
