there no beef dude .... b.r ppl always themselfs put above n.o .... when theres..no comparison ... its too different styles ....... ..n.o....bands has always been up on game ...b.r is trying to catch up....
yeah.. and the truth is.. The bands Used to be Serious Competition. Prior to BR's Decline in Bands in the 90's and N.O's Decline in the 2000
but Due to these new found Drumline live Events and the fact that their is an LLI... the bands have something to Prove to eachother both On and off the field.. Before than it was mainly "Catch u every blue moon" kinda thing.. Now every year our bands go at it...
So with 2 Band City not really having Consistent band programs.. all the Drama about "being Sad" just makes the arguments more Interesting..
2 b honest if it wasnt for new orleans mosts school woodnt have a style of band it wood b the course sytle marching/walking lol an i know that for a fact cuz anywea u goin they got sum school tryna b lik a n.o. school and have our style or arranges and cadences!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL at this thread. Well, I remember coming up in high school SU Lab would stay on nola.com/forums/hsbands/ (lol) talking alot of noise. When they came to New Orleans, they got destroyed. Around this time LLI started to get on the map and they did a BOTB in New Orleans and decided to hop in the stands against 35. That along with the LLI not answering the botb invite from the N.O. All star band brought about alot of dislike (for me) for B.R. bands. Now, as a college student, its all good. Once you get out that setting you realize the world is much bigger than N.O. and B.R. and that whole lil "beef" was stupid....Plus we all know who would win of course (N.O. cough) lol
There is no friction between BR and NO bands. If fact a thread such as this would stir up something that has not even started. Baton Rouge is building up and going back to the basics. New Orleans suffered a hit after Katrina but now are back on the scene as if nothing as ever happen. The reality is that Baton Rouge does not have that desire, discipline, and dedication that many members in New Orleans school bands have. Students up here for the most part are what I call part timing their craft. New Orleans students are dedicated to giving their all for their band programs.
It is quite silly to suggest if one, two, or three people from a BR band or NO band fights someone for the opposite city and declare a beef between both cities all together. I know many of the directors here in BR and NO. Mr. T-Bone I KNOW your band director does not and would not "beef" with a NO band program. What would that prove? Mr. Taylor is all about making music. Now students will act young minded and some may even do stupid stuff. But ulitimately, that would never be a beef between two cities, only a beef between two or more people who so happen to hail from two cities.
