I don't think the fight has anything t do with the ending of the labor day classic. With all those classics bama state was only playing about 2 or 3 games at home a year vs a solid 5 now. Maybe the athletic department will decide they need the support and pay the bands way. I never understod why there wasn't more of a rivalry betwen asu and jsu. Both are in the capitol city of their state both are the largest hbcu's in their state and the schools are very close together in the same division of the swac.
