  • Actually if you look at him the whole video, he's leaning back while he's playing That's BAD.. had he Cocked Back, He would have probably fallen. He Needs to be standing as his section is. LOL and doing what his section is doing just for The Look,

Now with that said. Standing still while playing. I have no problem with that. because you dont really NEED to Cock/Jeck to have projection from your horn whether you're feeling it or Not.... but if you're the only one Not doing it. it looks silly.

When I was in middle school we learned that Cocking your horn wasn't necessary because it had no affect on sound ..lol and in this case.. Nor does Leaning back...

I think that guys horn would be facing down if he wasn't leaning back..
  • to each his own book......
  • i see Cocking your horn is just to gain more air.

some people built weak i guess.........

if you dont moveto get air at all thats like blowing up a ballon in a cup....
  • book how he doing what the section doing???
  • i wonder about you sometime book..................
  • u read that wrong .. Take Out the "LOL" and it says He Needs to be standing as his section is and doing what his section is doing just for the look

cause as i said .. he looks weak ..lol
  • Cocking on a horn don't make a person louder, it's all about support! If a person has to +!@#$ back to make themselves feel like they are blowing, then that's on them! I'm not against it, if the entire section does it because the look gives off a certain affect but make sure everything has some uniformity to it, especially if you're in a college band!
  • There's a cat at TSU that went from Trumpet to Tbone to Mello .. This Kat Stood the same way as the cat in the video.. He wasn't that great of a player but he knew How to play.. he was taken off trumpet because Lee didn't appreciate his Screaming 24/7 ..LOL .. Im like DANG DUDE JUST LIFT YO ARMS UP A LITTLE U WILL BE OKAY! ..lol

lol make dem arms loose ..LOL

dawg,, I have pictures of SU's Baritone line and I find that few of them hold their horns Incorrectly. when I pointed that ou. They said "The Horn is Heavy" .. LOL! but hey.. many people look at them and think They're the Better members of the section because they stand like "Hey Im Lettin my nuts hang" ..lol

  • The ignorant only thinks that lol! It's all about breath support, i seriously hope that people don't think just because someone cocks their horn, means that person can play! LMAO
  • Why all the BS?

seeing that i am the "One " who really started this on baritone.......

Now before me there where people that played like that in the SWAC.

cause before 1995 Southern an TxSU had cats playing like that.

you cant hate on a musican style of play...look at all the jazz legends....

    i'll wait......
