"So your trying to funny. Are Baton Rouge and Jackson Major cities, Hell yeah they are when compare to Grambling. Both are capital cities and one is the major capitol city in the state. I didnt say that gram would have the top attendance…"

"If Gram was in a major city, it would be in the rankings. I always believed that one of the reason Southern and JSU attendance is high because they are in a major city."

Born and raised in New Orleans, I am a graduate of Warren Easton Highschool. I'm also a proud graduate of Grambling State university. I am a member of the Epsilon Rho Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity. I also a proud member of the Owtragoues, Owtlandish, Owtstading Omega Lambda Lambda chapter of Omega Psi Phi Inc. I reside in Nashville, TN where I am a Middle School Band Director. I recently moved back home to New Orleans. I am the Band Director at Frederick A. Douglass in the 9th ward. After being home for a year I was looking forward to being home and bringing music education in New Orleans back to excellence. But that was not the plan God had for me. I recently took a job in Little Rock Arkansas at Arkansas Baptist College. Starting a new chapter in my life.

.ive always took the position that Mr Adrian Watkins,who was a helluva musician and songwriter/arranger/composer,was the perfect sidekick for HAMP......
IN dISCUSSING this pre-Katrina with Peanut('Aug/'35) and others of y'all era,i noted that WATKINS wrote and arranged the songs JUST AS THEY WERE WRITTEN AND PLAYED BY THE ORIGINAL ARTIST/WRITER/ARRANGER !
NUTT said he didnt like that WATKINS wrote EVERY part of the song. lol
but even when a few other schools shared WATKINS music,it still never sounded like the AUG version.
Im curious now what are ur thoughts on that ???
Ive contended that the quality and longevity of the WATKINS/HAMPTON success had them at the top of high school marching bands nationwide.Best HS Director,Best HS Arranger/Composer/Writer !
how do u feel about that now that ur on the teaching side versus being a member of the band ??
were u a member of the band when Easton did the E,W & F show @ the Superdome BOTBs ??
