If your looking to get your lows more intense (loud, fat ect) i suggest an MF3 (mike finn 3) it has no resistance so you would really have to work for it but as far as tone production..the MF3 is like making love to your horn.google Mike finn tuba mouthpieces.the tuba exchange carries them also.

Well man, if make it out to Famu of Bethune Cookman next year, then there's a good chance you'll see me out there too. So good luck with the season this year. I'm stuck with a Corps Style band this year now that I've transfered. But I'll live with it.

Well, if you're playing with good tones, then all of those schools you mentioned are complete garbage other than Famu. BCU is a pretty good school too. Both of them put a lot of work into tone quality. And I know what you mean about people trying to do nothing but blast. I mean, if I can get a section of four to play with FAT tones and lots of bass sound at a decent volume, it will sound much better, even louder, than a section twice that size that is blasting every single note. Besides, if you blast, you can't really play good lows. It will sound really airy and weak in comparison. And I love crankin' my pedal F, so I feel you there.
