  • 97......plus 09 sounds like a different arrangment...
  • 97 by a long shot: it's mind boggling how the past editions(smaller bands) vs the current editions(larger bands) were much cleaner and had just as much power than the current editions. This is one of the factors that has made current editions seem average because in the past you didn't expect so much sound to come out of small bands but now the bands are larger and though they are throwing out sound it's not as intense and seasoned as their past editions. I miss the smaller Bama State and SU bands, they seemed more deadly then.
  • that's cause a guy from SU srote the 97 arrangement (RALPH CHAPMAN)..hmmmm
  • don't put us in the same categorie as bama stank,,,but i do miss SU'S 128

  • gotta go with 97'
  • I don't think him being a SU grad has anything to do with this band, so leave dat alone. It all has to do with the director and his work ethic. And my high school had the same arrangement, and it was some wrong notes wrote in it sooooo, go figure.... Love the Chapman and most def Bray era's of Bama State.
  • 1997 sounded better.

But I really hate this song, though......
  • i can't let this go on any longer. you guys do not seriously think these are diffrent arr. lol. j campbell rescored(sp) this. the arr are almost completly identical minus some looping and changes to the bass and btone parts. lol.I like the intensity of 97 there actually about the same size band. people don't realize how small bama state was this year. i guess their still thinking of the 08 band.
  • Man i honestly like SU's smaller bands, they were very very intense and precise. SU had a certain mystique about them.. Who would think? You saw & heard a 128 piece band that sounded like they were 300 plus. Now it seems bands are now focused on size and i would never think that would happen in the SWAC.
