  • JSU vs. TSU (This will be a great stand battle) Both bands will produce. I think if you looking for a crowd excitement both will deliver. I can't call this one TSU been coming for blood ex. asu. JSU will be hungry for blood since they haven't seen anyone. Halftme wise. idk about either...I think it will be okay. Both have the loudness factor and numbers but TSU is a lil more controlled and polished than JSU.

MVSU vs. ASU Unfortunate, I think bamer state will handle business simply because they are louder and actually sound a lil good this year. HOWEVER, mvsu is not any pushover like they have been for years. I also heard that their dance line is suspended due to hazing. but that's neither here nor there bandwise.I haven't seen much from either except when i got to the asu vs. tsu game 4th Q and state sat on their a$$ the whole time. but aye we will see.

Grampaxx and BCU This can be either a sleepers game or well balanced game. Might be interesting. I see Gram been stepping it up too. SWAC wise all have heavy hitters this year. Halftime wise I will give it to Gram even tho I'm a big fan of BCU. BCU has gotten to predictable however, they still sound good for their numbers.

  • @J_AAMU you don't seem to be to happy about ASU success! I hope you don't think AAMU will handle Bama state?!? I just felt a lot of negative energy on your last post!!
  • Jsu vs tsu is the known gram vs bcu is the unknown and asu vs mvsu well we know that but the SHC will produce great videos ..... but there are several bands coming for blood this year n as long as tsu has various songs n sound through the game they'll have jsu for some reason wt for jsu by ear sounds a little off this year (especially on money can't buy) but there brass is the best n trumpets second best in the swac
  • J AAMU , your funny...I will admit ASU has to Clean up a bit....State at times sounded not so clean on certain songs, but on others they were A1!! If you look at all of a&m clips, you notice all of the comments saying how much they've improve this year..the funny thing is that might be be true, but it's still not up to swac standards..Y'all playing Skegee and beat your chest ..man Stop!!! If you were to take a poll on who would be a better opponent ..State is Killing y'all ..A&m dosent even belong in the swac..only people who think so is A&m fans ..CHURRCH!!!!!
  • No negative just stating my opinion and what I saw. I stated 4th Q...heck yall could have been handling business the whole time. I just feel it's mighty odd to be on mute and the team is in a critical crunch time. Not sure why you brought up AAMU except to diverge the topic. And YES! AAMU is handling business!

  • J AAMU I believe in your heart you really buy into what your saying..that goes to show delusional persons don't know they're delusional..lol...like I said. If you were take poll, of unbiased people the result come back of AAMU BIENG AVERAGE AT BEST!!!
  • So since this about AAMU would be average at best what would that make bamer state? A poll was taken and every SWAC/MEAC/SIAC school agreed that Bama State has always been loud and sloppy. AAMU has been clean but small in recent years. AAMU has been one of cleanest if not the cleanest. But aye if you delusional and take healthy criticism the wrong way so be it. No one is perfect but strive to be is all I am saying.

  • Im not from Bama State or AAMU but judging from what I've seen from 2013 and 2014 season ASU can sound really good but they have trouble playing clean and full at the same time. If they scale back from blowing a little bit and focus more on clarity and cleanness they will be an even bigger threat. AAMU is a bigger threat this year because they have cleaned up their sound. They may get out blown by most bands but they don't sound like your typical swac band they just sound like a band with good quality and that seems to work for them. The are actually the best sounding band in the SWAC now.

  • Yes to back that up I listen to plenty music and that's what it boils down to being clean and full or just loud without intonation .... people are very quick to judge hbcu's by there volume which that is cool but what are we in band for music and musicianship but here is the equation

BEING LOUD AND CRANKING=BEING CLEAN AND FULL it depends on your style and size of sections for example

Alabama state good trombones and baritone they play through them jsu good mellos and trumpets they play through them su good trombones and trumpets they play through them aamu plays through there trumpets (which r currently best in swac) and there tubas so every school has a style and you incorporate your arrangements to that.....
