they did before the hurricane but not anymore, it hasnt been the same since.a school called o.p. walker seem to have taken the spotlight since then but never really had it before the hurricane so that situation speak for itself...but this should be in general discussion or high school forum.
you are right i think if we better band directors that taught music and instead of jus playin new orleans bands might could go back to before the storm
Well, even though the NO bands aren't on the level they where pre-katrina, I think that they are still the best place to find good high school bands because there are so many not far from each other. This makes for a very competitive environment. But to trumpet06 and lilbee, be patient, if you went to any parades you would have noticed the middle school bands, a great sign of recovery and promise to our city's music programs in the future.
walker lol walker is a top 5 band maybe top 3 you have to respect the best St. Aug and Mcd 35 also Easton right beheind Walker nd Karr along with Rabioun Clark Reed etc and the middle schools even elementary(mlk)
answer is ...............No....... if they stop trying to sound/play like SU (sometimes Bama St *barf*) they can improve faster.. they already have good drilling fundimentals and size but the sound quality is sooooo dissapointing
