  • Love Bro.Jackson... Real good person, but some of your info is not correct.. Some of those songs were arranged by other directors at SU.. Like Eric Baskins,Roy Johnson,Paul Adams, and Carnell Knighten. Mr.J is not a legendary director, yet. He still has a ways to go before he can be granted that status.. His arrangements, with all due respect, pale in comparison to arrangements written by the legends I just named.. Do your research,I marched in the Box when Mr.J first started on the yard as an assistant(92),so I know his arrangements are not as prolific previous SU assistants..Haymer's arrangements, however, are  damn good..Arrangement-wise,he is killing everybody in the SWAC,easily... Not dissing Mr.J,got love for him,but arrangements are not his strong point..

  • Mr J definitely did not write tht lol

  • I do apologize not knowing that Mr J didn't write "Black and Blues", but I have to disagree with you saying that arrangements is not his strong point. I totally disagree, when it comes to legendary arrangers, come on, Mr. J had some monster ass arrangements before he become director at the Jukebox. Legendary director? I didnt say that, I said he was one of the best which he is, he does have long ways to go with that. But I have to disagree with you're comment saying that his arrangements pale in comparison to Eric, Roy, Carnell, and those folks.

  • Mr. Jackson was and still is a good arranger. But what happened he was an assistant until about the last two years before Doc retired, so we never really got to see his arsenal. He can write but for what has been out out there, the gentleman said, it doesn't compare to the other arrangers. At this point with the way Nate is writing, there is no need for him to arrange.

  • Favorite Jackson song was Rock with You by MJ. Mr. J's songs may have seemed simple, but they had a groove to them and they were effective. They were still distinct in their own right. I also liked In the Stone.
