people don't travel....scsu didn't have a big fan base in birmingham.....hampton is two far from birmingham......su and famu brought a good crowd but they tend to travel like that....the last one was in florida wich is far for jsu fans to travel to see hampton...and too far for hampton to see jsu
I think the game is important (or better yet I enjoy being able to go check out the SWAC play the MEAC) its just that its at the wrong time of the year.
I mean just call it whatever you need to, just put it at the end of the year. Back in the Day, this game used to be call The Heritage Bowl. The last one of those was in '99
i think atl or louisiana would be a great spot for it due to lots of bands heads an big cities, not even the city of orlando supported it last yr. but i kno gsu has alot of alumni in fl so it should be a good turn out.

Jackson State has the highest attendance in the SWAC so why wasn't the SWAC MEAC Challenge game more successful when they played in it? So that heavy hitting stuff is a lie and don't do nadda! SU and FAMU have a legendary and intense rivalry, that's why that game had 30,000 plus, but let SU would have played Morgan State in Birmingham in the SWAC MEAC Challenge game and the attendance wouldn't been even close to 30,000! It's all about location and timing of the game period, all that sugar coating and high horsing is nothing but a smoke screen! It won't get past 30,000 until they have the game at the right time and right area! Kill the SWAC Meac game and bring back the Heritage Bowl!
