MY opinoin on what give a band that umph factor

I believe its called intensity. I mean there are bands out there that sound good, but they don't get their credit, for their hard work, like FAMU, TnST. But not too many people really care for them, because they don't have that INTENSITY,or better yet, THAT KILLER INSTINCT in their performace. Then their is people out there that wonder, why does people love to see SU, JSU, ASU, and TXSU perform, its because of the intensity. I mean if you go to any of these school games u can see how hype the band is, esp SU, and TXSU. You can even see it in their directors, and the AUX. Nobody wants to see a band, where everyone in that b1tch lookin all HAPPY in sh1t, seein people in the band lookin like "WHY I'am i here", " BAND is not the serious", "Ohh this is sum other sh1t i do on my spare time." I can honestly say that every practice of SU>JSU>TXSU>ASU have intensity from warm up, therw the long azz speach of the band director, to the dismissal of band, lol and even to the tighen ups after practice.I just want the Fall of 09 to be a big year for HBCU of bands, ohh yea FAMU and TNST, please don't take it heart.an example of intesity on one day of practice

I disagree with the first sentence...Famu and TNst do get credit for their hard work...I like "intensity"...but am glad every band is different...I'd think it would get quite boring after awhile if every band "played" the same....heyal it's what makes su SU...if every band played like that then it would just turn into the norm and get played out...now I do agree with folks loking all happy...get serious dammit lol!

well when i was in highschool, we had a small band, but our band director knew the key ingredient, we didn't go out there and blew out our limits, we came up with great field shows, and dance routines, knew our music inside and out, we put 10x emphasis on every thing we do. It was the same at SU where intensity runs threw our blood. Intensity make you want to add more to what you do. Like at SU, now every band has plumes, but why ours look better, cause we just don't let the wind blow dem b1tches, we do somthing with them.

i mean don't get me, wrong i don't see ni99as over krunk, i want to see pride, hell i want to see ni99as in that b1tch sweatin, there is band out their that be in the stands laughing, giggling n shit, get up ....play some happy sh1t....sit down and be like we out played them ....ha ha

Prime example, Gramblin at the BOTB last yr. while they were playin 1 particular song, they showed close ups on some ppl playin, and one was of somebody suckin on they horn lmao!!!! and then they showed this girl laughin durin the song........Adrian imma beat that ass next sunday 4 these discussions bruh
