A glissando is a glide from one pitch to another. The word comes from the French term " glisser", or to glide. It can be referred to as a bend or smear. It can be executed on an instrument by a rapid series of ascending or descending notes. For instance, on a slide trombone you just simply slide your slide to another pitch while maintaining your note. Well thats just about everything that i know. I hope this helped.

  • Here's the way I was taught. Ma not be the best way. 1.Practice playing the notes in-between in the respective order slower. 2. Do it at the correct speed. 3. (if brass) don't push the valve down as much so that the pitch will be hard to "control pitch" I guess. (IDK about Trombone). and of course adjust your lips. I'm not a pro at glissando, but that's how I do do it.
