Worthing - 8 students played division 1 solo's and 6 students are advancing on to the state solo & ensemble contest. our feature twirler is advancing to state as well.

5 - gold 3 silver and 1 bronze I would say not bad for our first time back ...
Still none the less very proud of our kids from Sam Houston!

When I hear those students warm up, play those solos to get your chops up! I want the same results at state. You should hum that solo while you are sitting on the throne, getting dressed, on your way to school, and on your ipod. Play from memory at your college audition and your scholarship offer will definitely be worth your time.
Congratulations gentlemen! I had my validating moment as a band director at the Johnston MS solo and ensemble. Out of 34 students that attended, 27 received division 1s and 7 recieved division 2s. The joy and excitement in their faces made it all worth it. Up next, Blinn Concert Festival, Waltrip Concert Festival and our first time at UIL and Hamilton's return in over 30 years.
