Undercover Cops crabbing in the fall?

I was on twitter last night, and one of my followers retweet and AAMU band member who said that they've gotten word that undercover cops are crabbing in ALL HBCU bands in the fall.  Of course, true or not, I retweeted it.  While this is just a rumor, how do you guys feel about this?  Is it that serious that they need to put them in ALL bands?  Do you feel that the government is just reaching and trying to nitpick at the HBCU band culture?

I think that if they're going as far as to put undercover cops in HBCU bands, they might as well as go as far as to put them in all collegiate bands.  Better yet, make these undercover cops pledge frats or something.  It's honestly nonsense to just point out HBCU bands when other organizations been doing the same, and WORSE for years, even at PWCs.

P.S. I'm not a high school senior.

  • I doubt people would invest that must money in trying to investigate hazing.   IF they did, it would be difficult because Im sure the undercover cops would suck on their instruments.  So just sit back and laugh at whoever sucks butt on their horn.

Really though, its time out for physical hazing and time for people to get creative when motivating and find another way of motivation

  • I would think it would start to shift that way with the situations that occured over the last few months.  But, as with everything, there will always be those people who are trigger happy to put their hands on someone.

There could be cops who play instruments for like stress relief in what not, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't just let ANYONE go on a case like this if it were true.

  • Don't doubt it, it's going to happen i heard about it months ago.
  • It wouldn't surprise me at all..The government has been trying to attack HBCU's for years.Look at how they are so aggressively going after SU.That has been going on for decades.I remember when they had an undercover cop pledging in a fraternity at SU.I won't give the frat's name, but it does not surprise me at all.HBCU'S LOOK OUT!!!!This is not a joke!!!

  • LMBO... you gon' have me looking at every sorry player funny now!!!

  • Real talk...just like someone said if they gonna invest this much time and effort they can easily find a extreamly good instrument player. Infact its happening with Greeks also at PWC and HBCU also. So don't just be one minded about what could or couldn't happen.

Also don't expect a undercover cop to look older. Come to A&M and you will see some of the youngest looking cops in your life.

  • I can't stress this enough, this is not a game!!!! This does happen!!!!At SU,back in 93,94,&95,we had UC's posing as pledgees in three seperate frats,at three different times. This was part of a federal investigation on hazing. They look like normal college students, but they are UC's.Take heed to the warning, they are serious..

  • I believe there are implants on campus who are WATCHING and will be watching as if they're normal students to see what goes on. but not directy in the bands

21 Jumpstreet on yall boys smh

  • I don't think the cops/feds themselves would march but I don't think paid informants (regular high school seniors who have played in bands throughout high school) doesn't sound too far fetched. Feds paid off people to infiltrate groups and organizations during the civil rights movement (COINTELPRO) so who knows..I will say though for law enforcement agencies to go THAT far with bands when they have people DYING and getting MURDERED in America EVERYDAY is dumb. Hazing in a college band is no where near out of control like the drug trade, corruption, homicides, etc. ALL PROGRAMS better tighten up this fall though. Whether it's fact or rumor, WHY CHANCE IT AFTER EVERYBODY WILL HAVE OUR BANDS UNDER MICROSCOPES THIS FALL?? That stuff is NOT worth your education.
