Just understand that you are nothing and that you know nothing. And keep in mind that whatever u go through the previous classes has been through. Play the hell out your part and keep ur mouth shut unless spoken to. Be humble as possible!!!!!
u need to be a "Sponge" and be able to soak up all the knowledge being presented to u..u need to play your horn to the fullest and even if you're not that gud, i wanna see u striving to get better on your horn everyday...by the end of the season you will be den crossed "Wutever Section" but u need to have become a better musician during the process
it depends on wat part you play but you should be able to play c above the staff comfortably..wit 1st trumpets you got stay up there..lol

Be quiet and play your instrument to the best of your ability PERIOD....
Dont worry about hazing. If you are on your shid, nobody can say anything to you. Also you might wanna learn some really funny jokes to entertain the oldheads if they get mad at your crab brothers/sisters.

what do a section leader prefer to have in a freshman in a college band
I'm just wondering so I can come in there with the right attitude

1. Positive Attitude
2. Good Work Ethic
3. Teachable
4. Can play all notes within the instrument's practical range with a good tone
5. Can memorize music in a short amount of time(no point in being in the band if you don't know your music)
