    A BAND IS ONLY AS GOOD AS ITS LAST PERFORMANCE, IAM SURE YOU'VE HEARD THIS NUMBEROUS TIMES, BUT A GOOD BAND CAN BLOW AND STILL MAINTAIN GOOD MUSICIANSHIP SUCH AS TONE QUALITY, NOT OVER SHOOTING NOTES, BALANCE AMONGST THE BAND AND SUCH AND SUCH....SWAC BANDS ESPECIALLY, SHOULD BE ABLE TO BLOW AND IT STILL SOUND GOOD FROM ACROSS THE FIELD....UPCLOSE CAMERAS OR SPECTATORS CAN CATCH EVERYTHING, ACROSS THE FIELD EACH INDIVIDUAL NOTE HAS TIME TO BLEND AND MIX TO CREATE MUSIC, LIKE A RECIPE, THE DIFFERENT INGREDIENTS COME TOGETHER TO CREATE SOMETHING GOOD TO EAT OR SOMETHING BAD, DEPENDING ON WHAT'S COMING OUT OF A HORN DECIDES WHAT YOU WILL HEAR WHEN THE DIFFERENT MELODIES, AND HARMONIES MIX......

    A band is as strong as its weakest musician...As each individual gets stronger and better - the band gets stronger and better. A good band integrates tone, intonation, articulation, style, interpretation, rhythm, tempo, timbre, discipline, precision, integrity, heart, blood, sweat, and soul!
